Legislature seeks funding balance between schools, other obligations

School funding will steal a majority of the headlines when the Kansas Legislature begins its 2018 session on January 8.

However, lawmakers have numerous other significant issues that will be on the agenda - most of which have to do with money.

“Most of what needs to get done is linked to school funding and how much money will be available for everything else that state government is expected to provide,” says House Majority Leader Don Hineman (R-Dighton).
