Mobile home guidelines back on city council agenda
An ordinance subjecting mobile/manufactured homeowners to more strict guidelines will be under consideration at the Scott City Council meeting on Mon., May 6. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Under the proposal, any time a mobile home is relocated within the city, or if there is a change of utility hookups or ownership, it will be subject to inspection by the city’s building inspector. The inspector will also have the authority to conduct annual inspections at any time he determines the “health, safety and welfare” of a resident could be at risk.
Skirting will also be required within 60 days after a mobile home has been located on a property and the materials shall be “approved for exterior exposure” such as fiber cement skirting. The skirting should also be secure enough to withstand wind and exposure to the elements.
