SCH gets Moderna vaccines

The Scott County Public Health Department has begun implementing Phase 1A of its COVID-19 vaccine program which is available to frontline responders, healthcare workers and persons 75 years.

Health Director Edith Tarango said her department received 50 doses of the Moderna vaccine on Dec. 30 and began giving the first vaccines on Monday.

Recipients of the 50 doses have already been scheduled. She is uncertain when the next shipment will arrive, but adds that depending on the time frame, it’s likely those will need to be given to the individuals who received the first 50 vaccines.

The second dose of the Moderna vaccine must be given within 28 days of the first dose.
