The Scott City Council’s thoughts of extending Eighth Street in order to provide another access to the Eastridge Addition were dealt a jolt on Tuesday evening during a Zoom meeting with their engineer.
The preliminary cost of street work, along with necessary water and sewer lines, has been estimated at $723,666, according to engineer David Frisch with GMS, Inc., Colorado Springs.
The council had previously received a bid of $111,095 to provide another access road into the subdivision from K96 Highway at Chestnut Street. However, there was also interest in exploring an extension of Eighth Street to Jefferson Street.
