Storage not likely to be an issue with area’s wheat

A bumper corn harvest last fall, combined with low grain prices in the months since, have set up a potentially tough situation for grain elevators across the Midwest.

With the wheat harvest just now kicking into gear, storage could become an issues for some locations.

Jason Baker, general manager of the Scott Co-op, says their carryover corn stocks are about 80% higher than normal at their eight locations across Scott and Wichita counties.
