Storms play havoc with area wheat harvest

Persistent rains over the past week have brought wheat harvest to a crawl across most of Scott County and the immediate area.

Between June 20-26, Scott City received 3.68 inches of rainfall, but those amounts vary across the area, allowing some farmers to make much more progress on their harvest.

“It’s off to a slow start around Scott City,” noted Scott Co-op manager Jason Baker.
