Tax lid hangs over local budgets

City, county are limited to 1.4% hike without vote

In order to limit an increase in the proposed 2018 budget, the Scott City Council may have to spread payments for a newly purchased street sweeper over six years instead of five.

And a pay increase for an officer being promoted within the police department may be less than what Police Chief Chris Jurgens is requesting.
