After hearing an impassioned plea from a parent to allow in-person attendance to a music concert, the USD 466 (Scott County) board of education agreed to the request during Monday’s meeting.

For nearly 90 years, the typewritten manuscript, hand-written notes and letters were kept in boxes and binders waiting to tell the story of the infamous Fleagle Gang and their bank robbery which had gone badly, resulting in four deaths.
If there was any doubt about the value of in-person instruction - whether by educators or parents - that should have been erased following the shutdown of schools last spring.
Youngsters may not get a chance to see Santa up close and personal, but they will get to see him nonetheless this Saturday.
