Access is limited to courthouse

Scott County Commissioners and elected officials decided during a special meeting last Thursday that the courthouse will be closed until further notice in response to the coronavirus. Whenever possible, it is asked that business be conducted by phone (numbers for each office have been posted on the front door) or e-mail. If necessary, individuals can arrange an appointment with the necessary department in the courthouse. Access will be allowed by the public, but on a limited basis. After individuals have been questioned regarding their recent travel, health, etc., they may be allowed into the building. Only one person at a time is allowed to conduct business at each office, according to County Clerk Pam McDaniel. They are not allowed to bring children or another adult with them. All courthouse employees are continuing to work at the present time. The one exception is driver’s license examiner who has been required by the Department of Motor Vehicles to take administrative leave as part of state guidelines.
