Scott County homeowners have been bracing for the prospect of a higher tax bill as the appraised value of their homes has spiked in recent months.
No one wants to imagine the prospect of an armed intruder entering a school building and dealing with the aftermath.
Area elected officials and other community leaders were thrilled last December when the Kansas Department of Transportation announced plans for the construction of passing zones on US83 Highway north and south of Scott City.
