Carol Mae Auten

Carol Mae Auten, 88, died July 12, 2017, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City. She was born on Aug. 15, 1928, in Shields, the daughter of Clarence T. “Pete” and Mary (Sharp) Hutchins. A lifetime resident of Scott City, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, PEO and Alpha Omega sorority, all of Scott City. On September 14, 1947, she married Kay D. Auten in Scott City. He died July 11, 1998, in Scott City. Survivors include two daughters; Jana Brittan and husband, Fred, Scott City, and Dana Gardner and husband, Rod, Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers Calvin Hutchins, Eugene Hutchins and Tom Hutchins. Funeral service will be Mon., July 17, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church, Scott City, with Steve Payne presiding. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the First Christian Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 South Washington St., Scott City, Ks. 67871.
