Charles E. Smith
Charles E. Smith, 84, died, Dec. 17, 2019, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.
H e was born on Sept. 12, 1935, in Scott City, the son of John and Cora (Snyder) Smith.
Charles was a lifetime resident of Scott City. At a young age he built grain elevators and later operated cow/calf operations, custom farming and custom silage and wheat harvesting.
In 1954, he married Betty Lou Morris in Scott City. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Craig Smith, and Mike Smith, both of Scott City, and Mark Smith, Wichita; three daughters, Marla Williams, Scott City, Rhonda Bauer, Pleasanton, and JoAnn McLemore, Grand Junction, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Delinna Smith; nine brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service was held Dec. 21 at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Scott City with Pastor Steve Payne officiating.
