Christine C. Evans, 100, died Sept. 15, 2017, at the Scott County Hospital. She was born Jan. 24, 1917, in La bette County, the daughter of Charles Walton Worley and Minnie Christina Erika (Englund) Worley. A resident of Scott City since 1966, moving from Augusta, she was a former elementary school teacher. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scott City. On Aug. 2, 1939, she married Orson Evans in Wichita. He died Nov. 28, 1990. Survivors include: one son, Richard O. Evans, and daughter-in-law, Esther Cho, Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren, David Evans, Englewood, Colo., and Rebecca Nordquist and husband, Mel, Fieldbrook, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Robert Nordquist, Anna Nordquist, Sean Nordquist and Michael Nordquist, Fieldbrook, Calif.; and one brother, Ellwyn Worley of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Donald Evans and Robert Evans; six brothers and two sisters. Memorial service will be Sat., Nov. 4, 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, Scott City, with Rev. John Lewis presiding. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Scott County Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church or Park Lane Nursing Home, both in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City, Ks. 67871.
