Clayton R. Turner
Clayton R. Turner, 82, died Aug. 9, 2018, at his home in Hope. He was born Feb. 21, 1936, in Sterling, the son of Walter Wyman and Lula Pearl (Whittaker) Turner. He was a resident of Hope since 2011, moving from Scott City. He worked at Brookover Cattle Company, retiring in 2001. On Nov. 3, 2005, he married Wanda Marie Jennings in Scott City. She survives. Other survivors include: four sons, Ron Turner and Glen Turner, both of Scott City, and Aaron Lauxman and Larry Laxman, both of Hope; three daughters, Tonya Johnson and Tammy Smith, Hope, and Toni Riffel, Woodbine; nine grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Clinton R. Turner; and one sister, Maxine Bins. A celebration of life service was held Aug. 17 at Zeiner Funeral Home, Herington, with Pastor Gary Schrader presiding. Inurnment was in the Hope Cemetery.
