Clifford M. Dearden
Clifford M. Dearden, 98, died June 2, 2017, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City. He was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Scott County, the son of Clifford M. and Retta M. (Sager) Dearden. A lifetime resident of Scott County, he was a farmer. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and American Legion, both of Scott City. He was also a member of Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader and member. Clifford was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. On Feb. 17, 1942, he married Virginia L. Daubert in Scott City. She died July 9, 2011, in Scott City. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Ottawa and husband, Kirk, Hays; three granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Barbara Dearden. Funeral service is Fri., June 9, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Scott City, with Rev. Warren Prochnow presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Park Lane Nursing Home in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 South Washington St., Scott City, Ks. 67871.
