Clyde Dean Thomas
Clyde Dean Thomas, 83, died Nov. 29, 2018, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.
H e was born May 27, 1935, in Scott County, the son of Everett and Ruby (Burns) Thomas.
He graduated from Scott Community High School in 1953.
He built homes for Delbert Jones for two years before working with Selwin Eggleston and becoming co-owner of Eggleston-Thomas Real Estate agency in 1967.
In 1981, he established Thomas Real Estate Agency.
He served in the Kansas National Guard; was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving as a board member and usher; was a city councilman; a former president of the Scott County Historical Society; a member of the Scott County Chamber of Commerce; assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop No. 149; and a Scott County little league baseball coach.
On June 14, 1956, he married Velda Eaton. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jerry Thomas and wife, Le-Anne, Manhattan, and Tony Thomas and Jennifer, Manhattan; one daughter, Shelli James and husband, Kirk, Scott City; brothers and sisters, Glenda and Clyde Schinnerer, Moore, Okla., Theda and Phillip Whiteman, Johns Town, Colo., Wanda Patton, Johns Town, Colo., Ronnie Thomas, of Florida, Keith and Betty Thomas, West Branson, Mo., and Paula and Vic Ablang, Las Vegas, Nev.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and and one grandson, Lane Harms.
Funeral service was held Dec. 3 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Lewis presiding.
Burial was held in the Scott County Cemetery.
