Dallas Shawn Martin

Dallas Shawn Martin, 46, died April 17, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

H e was born Oct. 5, 1972, in Scott City, the son of Lester D. Martin and Cheryl (Huseman) Martin.

He was born and raised in Scott City and graduated from Scott Community High School in 1991. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1996 with a degree in construction science and management. He was a construction project manager for over 22 years.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and 4-H in Scott City. He also belonged to the Kansas Junior Quarter Horse Association and the American Junior Quarter Horse Association.

On Aug. 16, 2003, he married Kandace King. She died July 25, 2010.

Survivors include: his mother and step-father, Cheryl and Leon France, Scott City; his special friend, Angela Koss, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two step-brothers, Clint France and wife, Amy, Scott City,, and Heath France and wife Tara, Hays; one step-sister, Tracy France, Roeland Park; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Justin Martin; his father, Lester Martin; one grandfather, Art Huseman; and one great-aunt, Velma Huseman.

Funeral service was held April 23 at the First Christian Church in Scott City with Steve Payne presiding.

Interment was in the Scott County Cemetery.
