David Walter Duff

David Walter Duff, 75, died Oct. 13, 2019, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

H e was born on Feb. 26, 1944, in Enid, O k l a . , the son of Charles a n d Kathryn (Stark) Duff.

David was a graduate of Shallow Water School where he was a member of the cross-county team for three years, winning two state championships.

On Dec. 24, 1982, he married Valarie Harris in Sharon Springs. She died on Aug. 31, 2019, in Scott City.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, he was the owner and operator of Beef Belt Feeders for over 40 years.

He attended Prairie View Church of the Brethren, Friend, and was a member of the NRA, Kansas Livestock Association and Alpha Kappa Lambda.

Survivors include his son, Darren Duff and wife, Kris, Scott City; two daughters, Gina Rodriguez and husband, Michael, Dodge City, and Dina Craft, Scott City; two brothers, Craig Duff and wife, Mickey, and Richard Duff and wife, Susan, all of Scott City; one sister, Deva Cupp and husband, Ed, Scott City; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Daryl Duff.

A celebration of life service will be held Fri., Oct. 25, 2:00 p.m., at Prairie View Church of the Brethren, Friend, with Pastor Jon Tuttle presiding.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
