Dennis P. Woods

Dennis P. Woods, 69, died Nov. 25, 2018, at his home in Scott City.

H e was born Feb. 7, 1949, in Garden City, the son of George Andrew and Thelma Lucille (Coleman) Woods.

He had been a resident of Scott City since 1987, moving from Garden City where he worked as a paint contractor.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

On Oct. 13, 1968, he married Linda Sue Loper in Garden City. She survives.

Other survivors include: one son, Jamie Woods and wife, Janelle, Scott City; one daughter, Kim Yakle, and husband, Tom, Wapello, Ia.; one brother, Carter Woods, El Dorado; and two sisters, Rosetta Hayes, Leoti, and Jackie Aldrich, Olathe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Darrell Woods and Manley Woods; and one granddaughter, Shelby Woods.

Funeral service was held Nov. 29 at Price and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Don Williams presiding.

Burial was held in the Scott County Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to the Dennis P. Woods Memorial Fund in Care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Box 553, Scott City, Ks. 67871.
