Donald Clair Perkins

Donald Clair Perkins, 81, died Aug. 22, 2019, at his home in Castle Rock, Colo.

He was born Nov. 10, 1937, in Belleville, the son of Raleigh Ray “Cy” and Katherine S. Perkins.

He grew up in Scott City.

He graduated from Garden City Community College in 1959. He added a bachelor’s degree in education and a Master’s degree in secondary education from Emporia State University.

He was a high school mathematics teacher at Goddard for five years and 31 years in Colby.

On June 5, 1959, he married Shirley Lennington. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Todd Perkins, Manhattan, and Steve Perkins and wife, Susan, Parker, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Kitten, Yoder, Colo., and Rita Ihrig and husband, Larry, Goodland; two grandsons and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ophelia Lennington; two brothers-inlaw, Arnold Lennington and Vernon Kitten; one step-father-in-law, Lawrence Kitten.

Funeral service will be held Fri., Aug. 30, 10:30 a.m., at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby.

Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.
