Dorothy J. Evans

Dorothy J. Evans, 85, of Oakley, died Oct. 15, 2020, at the Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1935, in rural Scott City, to Roy and Iva (Crane) Rose.

She married Leland Frank Evans on May 23, 1954, in Oakley. He preceded her in death. She was a farmer’s wife and a long-time area resident.

Dorothy enjoyed dancing, playing cards and spending time with friends. She was involved in Bible studies, teaching Bible school and Sunday school.

She liked flying with her husband, Leland, and going on fly-ins to meet up with friends, and taking family to other fun places.

She also enjoyed going to horse shows to watch her youngest daughter participate and, later on, watching her grandchildren compete in sports.

Dorothy was a member of the Country Chapel and the Gove Community Bible Church.

Survivers include one son, Kent Evans and wife, Brenda, Oakley; three daughters, Cindy Fink and husband, Lee, Monument, Jennie Koehn and husband, Brad, Tribune, and Shonda Johnson, Oakley; a sister, Royla Radina, Amarillo, Tex; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ona Mae Marmon, Bernard Rose, Lyle Rose, Gene Rose, Selaura Campbell, Conrad Rose and Bruce Rose.

Funeral service will be Sat., Oct. 24, 1:00 p.m., at the Oakley Christian Church with Pastor Kyle Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Gove Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the church. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
