Dr. Daniel Robert Dunn

Daniel Robert Dunn, 68, died Feb. 22, 2018, in Grant County. He was born June 26, 1949 , in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Bob and Lone (Sevier) Dunn. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1970 and the University of Kansas Medical School in 1974. Following his family practice residency at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, N.Y., he moved to Colby in 1977. In 1979, he began his practice in Scott City where he served the community for 35 years as a family practice physician. He served on the Scott County Hospital board, the Scott City Airport Commission, and was a member of the Spencer Flight and Education Center. He was a member of Blue Steele Band and a member of the Church of Christ, Scott City. On Dec. 28, 1968, he married Ruth Nettleton in Wichita. She survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Rochelle Miller and husband, Everett, Scott City, and Denise Cummings and husband, Joshua, Sugarland, Tex.; one son, David Dunn and wife, Stacy, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Ed Dunn and wife, Donna, Cripple Creek, Colo.; one sister, Renee Ebel, Parker, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service was held Feb. 27 at the First Baptist Church, Scott City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Scott County Hospital, Park Lane Nursing Home or the Spencer Flight and Education Center, all in Scott City.
