Eldon E. McWithey

Eldon E. McWithey, 77, died June 22, 2017, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City. He was born July 6, 1939, in Meade , the son of Harry Lee and Vera Mae (McKinnis) McWithey. He had been a resident of Scott City since 1974, moving from Claflin. He had retired as an oil driller for Slawson Exploration Company. Survivors include five daughters, Christine De- Hart, Clinton, Mo., Lisha Dirks, Scott City, Tanya McWithey, Garden City, Rhonda Morgan, Lenexa, and Shanna John, Scott City; one brother, Robert McWithey of Kansas; one sister, Mickie Philpott, Udall; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and two granddaughters. A memorial service will be held Sat., July 1, 10:30 a.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City, with Rev. Dennis Carter presiding. There will be no calling times. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Friends of Lake Scott State Park.
