Gene Russell Wren

Gene Russell Wren, 87, died Jan. 26, 2019, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Tex.

He was born May 1, 1931, in Scott County, the son of

Clyde Russell and Sarah Ethel (Schoonover) Wren.

A resident of Durant, Okla., he was a retired farmer and custom harvester.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

On March 27, 1978, he married Patsy S. Hogan in Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include: four children, Jynette Gibbs and husband, Phil, Susan Wiechman, Kendra Kendrick and husband, Brett, and Denise Murphy and husband, Melvin, all of Scott City; four step-children, Donna Williams and significant other, Billy Mc-Fatridge, Bokchito, Okla., Debra Hoon and significant other, David Sullivan, San Jose, Calif., Don Sweeney and wife, Marla, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Bob Armor and wife, Denise, Cosby, Mo.; three siblings, Don Wren and wife, Judy, Rocky Ford, Colo., Jerry Wren, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Rita Weis and husband, Junior, Ordway, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, George Wren, Leo Wren, Bob Wren, Ivan Wren and Keith Wren; four sisters, Edith Wells, Joyce Hathaway, Eleanor Buehler and Jesse Doyle; one son-in-law, Gordon Wiechman; and two grandchildren, L.D. Sweeney and Josh Williams.

A memorial service will be held Sat., March 30, 2:00 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Darrel Bunch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Calvary Baptist Church, 715 W. Louisiana St., Durant, Okla., 74701.
