Herbert A. Stevens

Herbert A. Stevens, 92, died on Oct. 13, 2020, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

H e was born on Sept. 11, 1928, in Geuda Springs, the son of Lawrence Metal-lis and Emma Beulah (Iseminger) Stevens.

A resident of Scott City since early childhood, moving from Geuda Springs, Herbert was a farmer and rancher.

Herbert was a 1946 graduate of Scott Community High School and was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Garden City and the Sunflower Polka Club of Hays.

On Feb. 25, 1951, he married Margie B. Harkness in Scott City.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Stevens, Scott City, and Stacy Stevens, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Colette Robinson and husband, Steve, Vienna, Va; five grandsons, Chad Stevens and wife, Mara, St. Johns, Fla., Corbin Stevens and wife, Heidi, Scott City, Curtis Stevens and wife, Theresa, Salina, Sean Stevens, Atwood, and Seth Stevens, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Crista Stevens-Kirchhoff, Smith Center, and Stefanie Stevens, Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; one brother; one son, Mark Stevens; one daughter, Melody Stevens; one grandson, Brannon Chayston Stevens; and his dance partner, Mary Ruth Houdyshell.

A Celebration of Life and inurnment will be held in the spring/summer of 2021 with Steve Payne presiding.

There will be no calling times.
