JaKayla ‘Jake’ Lynn Brehm-Vasquez

JaKayla “Jake” Lynn Brehm-Vasquez, 36, of Plains, died on March 10, 2018, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born Dec. 25, 1981 , in Scott City, the son of Leo Edward and Sheryl (Yoder) Brehm. She attended schools in Ingalls and Garden City. Most recently she lived and worked as a paraprofessional at Southwestern Heights Jr. High School in Kismet. Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Vasquez, of the home, a nephew, Colby Jay Lee, also of the home; five sisters, Kimberly Mitchell, Kansas City, Lisa Leonard, Kansas City, Janelle Vallejo, Holcomb, Audra Jones, Kansas City, and Staci Lee, Lakin; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Landon Kamphofner. Funeral service was March 14 at the Southwestern Heights Jr./Sr High School auditorium with Brother Vallejo officiating. Graveside service was held on March 14 at the Scott County Cemetery.
