Jeffrey Scott Nix

Jeffrey Scott Nix, 42, died Sept. 29, 2018, in Denver, Colo. He was born Sept. 11, 1976, in Wichita, the son of Jackie Dusen-bery Drake. A resident of Scott City since 1999, he was the owner and operator of American Roofing in Scott City and the founder and member of Boxer Rescue of America. He was also a member of Boxers and Everyday Boxers. On May 5, 2007, he married Michelle Wright in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Aspyn Nix, Scott City; one son, Jeffrey Nix, Scott City; five sisters, Melissa English, Mitchell, S.D., Tracy Gonzales, Haysville, Tanya Willis and Stacy Koester, both of Gillette, Wyo., and Dawn Schott, Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Nicholas Luiken, Douglass, and Rickie Drake, Arkansas City; Big Brothers and Big Sisters mentors, Bill and Leah Fairchild, Mulvane, and Jim and Shabana Fairchild, Wichita. He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Cheryl Graham; and his grandparents. Funeral service will be held Fri., Oct. 5, 10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Wagner presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Jeffrey Nix Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Box 553, Scott City, Ks. 67871.
