John A. ‘Hans’ Luebbers
John A. “Hans” Luebbers, 80, died Aug. 21, 2017, at Hospice of Reno County, Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Marienthal, the son of August Casper and Beata Magdeline (Kreutzer) Luebbers. A resident of Hutchinson, he retired as a grain elevator manager. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the American Legion and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-63. On March 6, 1965, he married Veda O. “Toni” Armantrout in Raton, N.M. She survives. Other survivors include: one daughter, Kelly French, Hutchinson; four brothers, August “Gus” Luebbers, Jr., and James “Pete” Luebbers, both of Marienthal, Don Luebbers, De Ritter, La., and Jerry Luebbers, Rainier, Ore.; one step-grandson and a step-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Omar; and three sisters, Edith, Lenor and Donna. Funeral service will be held Fri., Aug. 25, 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marienthal, with Fr. Ben Martin presiding. Interment will be at the Scott County Cemetery.
