Larry Gene Ribbing
Larry Gene Ribbing, died Jan. 4, 2018, in Leoti. He was born May 21, 1945, in Garden City, the son of Eugene W. and Geraldine (Oxford) Ribbing. He was a plant operator at Sunflower Electric, retiring in 2007. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964-68. Judy K. Ribbing, died May 3, 2014, in Scott City. She was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Garden City, the daughter of Roy and Bessie (McClinder) Tabor. She was a caterer and cook at the Moose Lodge in Garden City. Together they were residents of Garden City until 2007, at which time they moved to Scott City until 2016 when Larry moved to Leoti. Larry’s survivors include: two brothers, Dean Ribbing, and wife, Marlene, Leoti, and Darrell Ribbing and wife, Marge, Liberal; three sisters, Ellen Hahn, and husband, Ellis, Lakin, Kaye Cronin, Garden City, and Patricia Swilley and husband, Billie, Scott City. Judy’s survivors include one niece and one nephew. Memorial service will be held Thurs., Jan. 18, 10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Leoti, with Rev. Gary Salmans officiating. Inurnment for both will be in the Leoti Cemetery with military honors for Larry.
