Larry R. White
Larry R. White, 78, died March 8, 2019, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born May 5, 1940, in Pontiac, Mich., the son of Ray and Helen (Ketchum) White and raised by his uncle and aunt, Matt and Jennie Ketchum.
A resident of Scott City since 1972, moving from Marienthal, he owned and operated Big Valley Conditioners and worked for HRC Feed Yards before retiring from the Scott County landfill.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and former member of the Kansas Livestock Assn.
On Feb. 11, 1962, he married Reba Sadler in Dighton. She survives.
Other survivors include: six daughters, Debbie Barry, Garden City, Christy Allen and husband, Troy, Kansas City, Becca Kliewer, Garden City, Annette Orr, Scott City, Melinda Harrington and husband, Rex, Holcomb, and Kim White, Hutchinson; one brother, Keith White and wife, Linda, St. Joseph, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janet Drennen; and uncle and aunt, Matt and Jennie Ketchum.
A memorial service was held March 12 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Rodney Hopper presiding.
Inurnment was held in the Scott County Cemetery.
