LaVern Brau, 91, died June 29, 2018 at the Homestead Health and Rehabilitation Center, Garden City. He was born April 19, 1927, in Lakeview, S.D., the son of Albert John Brau, Sr. and Clara Ellen (Ratigan) Brau. He attended school at Jesuit Mission School in Lakeview. The family later moved to Scott City. He served in the United States Army from Sept. 1950 to July 1952. He married Georgia Bea Kline in Scott City. He was a builder and worked in Western Kansas. Survivors include one sister, Marline Brau (Sister Annrene Brau), Independence. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; four brothers, Albert Brau, Jr., twin Leonard Brau, Martin James Brau, and Marvin Brau; two sisters, Mary Ann Binns and Norma Lee Chandler Mc- Crory; half-brothers, Larence, George, Paul and John; and half-sister, Louise Brau Head. Funeral Mass will be held Fri., July 6, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City, with Fr. Charles Seiwert as Celebrant. Family interment will be at the Scott County Cemetery.
