Loren C. Janzen
Loren C. Janzen, 82, died July 25, 2019, at the Scott County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Ellsworth County, the son of Albert and Clara Janzen.
He graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts.
A resident of Scott County since 1947, he was a farmer.
Loren was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and Isis Shrine.
He served on the board of directors for Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott County Hospital, Camp Christy, Fort Hays State University Foundation, was chairman of Central Baptist Theological Seminary, American Baptist Churches USA general board, American Baptist Churches USA Ministers and Missionary board, and the Kansas Rural Crisis Ecumenical Council.
He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1958-62.
On Oct. 11, 1959, he married Sidney Harper in Scott City. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lori Aldag, and husband, Tom, Wichita, and Stephanie Robinson and husband, Mark, Lawrence; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Keith Janzen; and two sisters, Orla Herzog and Alberta Schreck.
Funeral service was held July 30 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Kyle Evans and Fr. Don Martin presiding.
Burial was held in the Scott County Cemetery.
