Maria Campos, 80, died Dec. 15, 2017, in Leoti. She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Rocky Ford , Colo., the daughter of Jose Leon and Maria Placida (Olivas) Amaya. She married Margarito Jaramillo in 1955. He died in October 1974. She married Gerardo De Jesus Campos in 1980. He survives. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Leoti. She worked for St. Catherine Hospital, the Rocky Ford hospital and Leoti hospital as a dietician. Other survivors include: three sons, Richard Jaramillo and wife, Rosalie, Jerry Jaramillo and wife, Tina, and Mark Campos and wife, Nicole; five sisters, Mollie Padilla, Helen Santisteven, Dolores Werick, Gloria Patton and Susan Sandoval; four brothers, Phillip Amaya, Tony Amaya, Louie Amaya and Charles Amaya; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patsy Cruz; and three brothers, Eddie Amaya, David Amaya and Frank Amaya. Rosary was held Dec. 18 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Leoti. Funeral Mass was held Dec. 19 at the church with Fr. Benjamin Martin presiding.
