Marilee T. Huslig
Marilee T. (Feist) Huslig, 92, died Aug. 17, 2018. She was born on Dec. 11, 1925, to Anthony and Eva (Christoph) Feist, the oldest of 11 children and grew up on the family farm near Sts. Peter and Paul Church, north of Ellinwood. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Claflin High School and beauty school in Wichita. She married Leverne Huslig on Oct. 9, 1948, and to that union were born seven children. She was a homemaker and a farm wife, making countless trips out to Scott City, where Leverne farmed, to make meals for the crews during wheat and fall harvest. She was a member of St. Joseph Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by her husband and children: John (Betty), Alexandria, Va.; Elva Fellers (Dan), Topeka; Jeff (Terri), Ellinwood; Bennett (Adele Komarek), Ellinwood; Daniel, Austin, Tex.; and Laura Jones (Tom), Annapolis, Md.; siblings, Catherine Doll, Garden City; Marvin (Nancy), Oskaloosa, Ia.; Richard (Lou), Claflin; Martin (Pat), Austin, Minn.; and Sam (Kay) Arkansas City. Other survivors include 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elva; three brothers, Fritz, Linus and Tony; and son, Gene. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial was at the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Church, St. Joseph School and St. Joseph Altar Society in care of Minnis Chapel, Box 246, Ellinwood, Ks. 67526.
