Melody Y. Stevens

Melody Y. Stevens, 60, died Sept. 19, 2019, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City

She was born on May 24, 1959, the daughter of Herbert A. and Margie B. Stevens.

A resident of Scott City since 2005, moving from Albuquerque, N.M., she was a ball room dance teacher and employed in advertising sales.

She attended the First Christian Church as well as the First Baptist Church.

Melody was a 1977 graduate of Scott Community High School and of Fort Hays State University where she performed as a member of the Tiger Debs.

Survivors include her parents, both of Scott City; two brothers, Rick Stevens, Scott City, and Stacy Stevens, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Colette Robinson and husband, Steve, of Vienna, Va.; five nephews and two nieces

She was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Stevens, and a nephew, Brannon Chayston Stevens.

Memorial service was held Sept. 23 at the First Christian Church, Scott City, with Pastors Rodney Hopper and Steve Payne presiding.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Friends of Lake Scott State Park in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, Box 553, Scott City, Ks. 67871.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.
