Melva A. Rose
Melva A. Rose, 90, died Aug. 3, 2018, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City. She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Logan County, the daughter of Anson Robert and Daisy May (Cook) McDaniel. She had been a resident of Scott City since 2007, moving from Greeley, Colo. She was an institutional cook at a nursing home and a founder of the Meals on Wheels program in Greeley. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include: two sons, Bill Rose and wife, Dee, Trophy Club, Tex., and Martin Rose and wife, Pam, Victorville, Calif.; two sisters, Roberta Leiker, Bel Aire, and Lucille Barraza, Wichita; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arlo McDaniel and Robert McDaniel; and two sisters, Virgie Redding and Marjorie McDaniel. Funeral service was held Aug. 7 at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, with Pastor Warren Prochnow presiding. Burial was held in the Scott County Cemetery.
