Miranda Rose Lara

Miranda Rose Lara, 32, died June 13, 2020, at her home in Scott City.

S h e was born on Oct. 13, 1987, in Scott City, the daughter of Robert Baxter and Pamela (Gimler) Appel.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, she was a Registered Nurse at the Wichita County LTC Health Center in Leoti.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City.

On May 20, 2006, she married John Lara in Scott City. He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Maci Lara, Scott City; mother, Pamela Appel, Scott City; one brother, Joel Appel and wife, Jessie, Scott City; grandparents, Leon and Hildagard Gimler, Parsons; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Baxter Appel; a brother, Jacob Appel; grandparents, Robert and Thelma Appel; an uncle, Tony Akers; and two cousins, Ethan and Darryn Rodenberg.

Funeral Mass will be held Fri., June 19, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City, with Fr. Warren Stecklein presiding.

Burial will be in the

Scott County Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to the Maci Lara Education Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, Box 553, Scott City, Ks. 67871.
