Mona Rhea Jeffries

Mona Rhea Jeffries, 84, died Nov. 23, 2018, at the Homestead Assisted Living, Garden City.

She was born July 7, 1934, in Scott City, the daughter of Wade Hampton and Letha Adalene (Phillips) Burgess.

On Aug. 12, 1954, she married Maurice Dean Jeffries in Garden City. He survives.

Other survivors include: three children, N. James Jeffries, Leoti, Cynthia Becker and husband, Kenneth, Garden City, and Stephanie Fontenot and husband, James, Garden City; two brothers, Keith and Jean Burgess, Scott City, and John and Roberta Burgess, Ransom; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, L. Max Burgess; two sisters, Eleanor Kuttler and Sharon Fuller; and one grandson, Trax Jay Fontenot.

Cremation has been selected.

Memorial service will be held Sat., Dec. 1, 2:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the Mona Jeffries Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, Ks. 67846.
