Orville ‘June’ Ives, Jr.
Orville “June” Ives, Jr., 84, died May 30, 2019, at his home in Scott City.
He was born June 3, 1934, in Belgrade, Mo., the son of Orville Osco, Sr., and Lottie (Jenkins) Ives.
A resident of Scott City since 1955, moving from Belgrade, Mo., he worked for Van Antwerp Clothing from the early 1960s until the mid 1970s. He then worked for KN Energy until his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
On July 15, 1956, he married Betty J. Specht in Scott City. She died July 8, 2004.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cynthia Appel, and husband, Brian, Scott City; two sons, Terry Ives and wife, Brenda, Wichita, and Michael Ives, Overland Park; four sisters, Betty Wineburner, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Shirley Sadler and husband, Gayle, Belgrade, Mo., Phyllis Warden, Potosi, Mo., and Miriam Sumpter, Belgrade, Mo.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held June 5 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Burial was in the Scott County Cemetery.
