Paula Stanton

Paula Stanton, 96, died June 1, 2017, at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Halsey Hall, Ft. Dodge. She was born May 2, 1921, at Watonga, Oklahoma, the daughter of Paul and Eunice (Graham) Hursh. She graduated from business college in Chillicothe, Mo., and was a telegrapher during WWII. On June 27, 1942, she married Floyd A. Stanton at Scott City. He died on June 5, 2015. She and her husband were co-owners of Weiser Drilling and Supply Company where she was the bookkeeper. She retired in March 1989. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Cleora, Okla., and the Eastern Star in Scott City. Survivors include: her daughter, Cheryl Dizmang, and husband, Rodney, Garden City; two grandsons and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Nicki Beard; and three brothers, Don, Oliver and Ted Hursh. Cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to the Kansas Soldiers Home Library in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Ks. 67801.
