Phillip E. ‘Flip’ Paul, Jr.
Phillip E. “Flip” Paul, Jr., 83, of Wichita, Ks., passed away, Tues., June 4, 2019, in Hugo, Okla. He had been in a care facility since 2014, suffering with dementia and other health issues.
Phillip was born in Marianthal, Ks., on April 9, 1936, to Phillip and Mathilda (Schupman) Paul.
In 1955, he married Karen Lafferty. To this union were born four children. They divorced in 1967. In 1984, he married Lillian (Gunning) Greenlee. She preceded him in death in 2016.
After he and Lillian’s retirement from Boeing in Wichita, they enjoyed traveling and going to casinos. They also enjoyed making popcorn balls, deviled eggs and working bingo at the Eagles Lodge in Wichita. Phillip loved repairing old bicycles and giving them to needy children.
Phillip is survived by his four children and their spouses: Rebecca “Becky” Braddy (Earl) Broken Bow, Okla.; Rockland “Rocky” (Paula), Broken Bow, Okla.; Lori Pratt (Kenneth), Idabel, Okla.; and Phillip “Kurtis”, Broken Bow; his step-children: William “Bill” (Jean) Greenlee, Katherine Weiss (Martin) and Anna Marie Gates (Mark), all of Wichita; his half-sister, Carol Ann Ohmart (Harold), Lawrence, Ks.; his eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, Lillian’s 21 grandchildren, 41-great grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Phillip was also preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Bertha (Erskin) Paul; sister, Delories Thon; halfbrother, Frank Paul, Sr., all of Scott City, Ks..; and his son-in-law, Jerry Greenlee.
Graveside services were held on June 10 at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita.
