Phillip W. Yost
Phillip W. Yost, 68, died Feb. 11, 2021, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1952, in Dodge City, the son of Walter L. and Sylvia M. (Schmidt) Yost.
A lifetime resident of Scott City, he worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 26 years before retiring.
Phillip was a member of the NRA.
In 1984 he married Ruth Clark in Leoti. Then in the early 1990s he met his life partner, Pam Babcock. She passed away on Sept. 24, 2019, in Hays.
Survivors include his son, Cody Yost and wife, Aubrey, Scott City; one sister, Charlotte Mininger and husband, Bob, Hardinsburg, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Owen and Alyssa Yost, Scott City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, life partner and one sister, Sharon Hughes.
Funeral service was held Feb. 15 at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Scott City with Charles Nightengale presiding.
Interment was in the Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence.
