Ruth Irma Daniels
Ruth Irma Daniels, 97, died July 2, 2018, at her home in Scott City. She was born on April 15, 1921, in Ness County to Charles and Elizabeth (Jaehde) Klitzke, one of eight brothers and sisters. She married Marvin Daniels in Rolla, Mo., in 1942, while he was in the U.S. Army. When he returned from the service they moved to the Daniels farm into an adobe home built by his parents. They later built a home next door and lived there until moving to Scott City in 1989. She was a member of the Prairie View Church of the Brethren, Friend; the Kansas Kolorful Art Association, Scott County VIP Center, The HGL Club, and sang at church and Park Lane Nursing Home. Ruth was an outstanding Western Kansas artist who displayed her work at many craft and antique shows. Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Kerr and husband, Jerry, and Gaye Fleming and husband, Tom; six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be Fri., Aug. 3, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Graveside funeral service will be at the Scott County Cemetery on Sat., Aug. 4, 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Jon Tuttle presiding.
