Stanley L. ‘Buck’ Pearson

Stanley L. “Buck” Pearson, 89, died July 1, 2017. Stanley was born Oct. 24, 1927, to Art and Bessie (Ritter) Pearson in Tribune. He was a graduate of Greeley County High School and attended Kansas State University for a short time, returning to the family farm. In June of 1952, Stanley married Ramona Adkinson in Brownell. Following the death of his father in 1956, Buck provided the labor and management for the family homestead that was started in the 1880s. He was a Scott City resident since 2012 after spending a lifetime on the family farm in Greeley County. Stanley was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge and a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star, both in Tribune. For more than 60 years he had been a Masonic member of Anthem Lodge No. 284, Scott City. He also served as a Sunday School teacher at the United Methodist Church, Tribune, where he was a member. Cattle were his passion and he raised Registered Angus cattle. He traveled the United States to purchase quality cattle to bring back to Greeley County to improve his herd. Survivors include three boys, Clint Pearson and wife, Lisa, Scott City; Travis Pearson and wife, Patricia, Wichita; and Lance Pearson, Lawrence; a dear friend, Inez Blau, Leoti; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marian and Ardris; and a brother, Valdean. Graveside service will be held on Sat., July 8, 10:00 a.m. (MDT) at the Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune, with Rev. Robert Selvakumra presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Tribune. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Scott County Shrine Club or Anthem Masonic Lodge No. 284.
