Vick L. Eitel
Vick L. Eitel, 67, died Oct. 31, 2017, at the Scott County Hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1949 , in Scott City , the son of Murl Loyd and Willidean (Burkhead) Eitel. A lifetime resident of Scott City, he worked in construction and for the Fairleigh Corporation for 27 years where he was known as the “go-to-guy.” He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, receiving the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Army Commendation Medal and Air Medal. On Feb. 17, 1998, he married Sandra Jackson, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives. Other survivors include: one son, Darren Terry, San Antonio, Tex.; three daughters, Chrissy Love, Pueblo, Colo., Veronica Mayer, Scott City, and Jennifer Terry, Topeka; three brothers, Dan Eitel, Hardy, Ark., Curt Eitel, Scott City, and Rodney Eitel, Scott City; three sisters, Karen Holterman, Scott City, Connie Eitel, Goodland, and Tammy Otterstetter, Penrose, Colo.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nixie Ann Eitel. Memorial service will be Mon., Nov. 6, 2:00 p.m., at the Scott County Cemetery with Steve Payne presiding. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City.
