The loss of last year’s leading scorer and rebounder in addition to a pair of starting guards is not an easy obstacle to overcome, but that’s the challenge ahead for the Scott Community High School boys in preparation for the upcoming season.
Over the past two seasons, the Dighton High School girls have been slowly building a team that can not only earn a trip to the Class 1A state tournament, but earn some state hardware as well.
The loss of the leading scorer in school history and five starters from a team that made back-to-back trips to the Class 1A state tournament would be a huge blow to any basketball program.
Brogan Dirks and Osiel Chanez were the only champions to come out of the season opening Goodland Invitational, but Scott City Middle School did have six silver medalists for a strong team showing.
