Beaver matmen looking for strong start to season

A two-time state champion and a two-time state runner-up are a pretty good core for any high school wrestling team.

But if Scott Community High School expects to be more than a good team - but a great team - several Beavers who have been on the brink of a state tournament appearance will have to take that next step this season.

“Our team is dependent this year on kids taking that next step. It’s not a whole lot different from last year,” says second year head coach Aaron Dirks. “Our focus is on making that happen.”

It’s no surprise that leading the way will be seniors Justus McDaniel (145) and Kaden Wren (138).
