Building momentum

Spikers on a roll as they eye possible No. 1 sub-state seed

The Scott Community High School volleyball team has gained momentum at the right time of the season with wins in nine of their last 11 matches.

If that wasn’t enough to give the Lady Beavers a big lift with sub-state just around the corner, they received welcome news with the announcement of substate tournament assignments this week.

SCHS (13-7) will be a strong favorite to earn a trip to the state tournament as one of only two teams who currently have winning records in the Class 3A sub-state at Cimarron.

The only other team that currently has a winning record is Holcomb (14-13) who has lost twice to the Lady Beavers, including a 25-13, 25-13 sweep on the home floor last week.
