SC pins Colby in dual showdown to claim back-to-back league titles

There was little doubt that the Great West Activities Conference wrestling championship would come down to the Scott City-Colby dual.

So when 120-pounder Brandon Roberts dropped a 6-5 decision in a controversial call that tied the team score at 6-6 the crowd noise was deafening. Colby fans were in support of the call and Scott City fans were shouting their disapproval.

Colby added a fall in the next match to take a 12-6 lead, but after that the Eagles had very little to shout about.

Even with an injured shoulder, Scott City junior Justus McDaniel (132 pounds) needed just 50 seconds to get a fall over Wyatt Tubbs.

Kaden Wren (138) oneupped McDaniel with a fall in only 21 seconds.

With each fall the Scott City crowd roared louder.
