SCHS spikers roll through field at Great West tournament

The SCHS volleyball team made it look easy at the Great West Activities Conference volleyball tournament last Saturday.

They swept through the field without losing a game and without allowing an opponent to score more than 21 points in claiming the league title.

“It was important for us to build some momentum in preparation for sub-state and that meant being league champions,” says head coach Shelby Kite.

“We knew that if we played like we could it would be a very good day for us.”

The day lived up to those expectations with the Lady Beavers facing no serious challenge. In fact, Kite only had to call one timeout during the entire tournament and that came after Ulysses scored four consecutive points in their opening match.
